Celebrate the Fourth of July in Maryland: 4 Community Events Worth Attending
At Xscape 2 Nature, we believe that outdoor spaces are more than just patios and hardscaping—they’re where families gather, neighbors connect, and memories are made. That’s why we’re proud to be part of a state that values community traditions, especially during holidays like the Fourth of July.
If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Independence Day in Maryland, here are four great events happening across four different counties. Each one offers something unique, and all are great examples of the strong community spirit we love about living and working in Maryland.

1. Catonsville 4th of July Celebration (Baltimore County)
Known for having one of the most spirited and well-attended Independence Day celebrations in the state, Catonsville goes all out with an all-day schedule of activities. Families can enjoy morning bike rides, children’s games, live patriotic concerts, and of course, the beloved Grand Parade down Frederick Road at 3:00 PM. The day wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display at Catonsville High School around 9:15 PM.
Whether you grew up attending this event or you’re visiting for the first time, the Catonsville celebration offers that nostalgic, small-town Americana feel that brings everyone together.
2. Columbia Lakefront Celebration (Howard County)
If you’re looking for something a little more laid back but still full of fun, the Columbia Lakefront Celebration is a great option. Festivities start in the evening with food trucks and live local music; all set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Kittamaqundi. The fireworks show begins at 9:15 PM and can be enjoyed from lawn chairs and blankets along the water.
This event is perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxed summer night with good food, music, and a beautiful view.

3. Fullerton Park Fireworks Festival (Harford County)
Located near the border of Baltimore and Harford counties, the Fullerton Park Fireworks Festival is a classic Independence Day celebration that draws a strong local crowd. Starting in the afternoon, the event includes live music, food vendors, and a festive atmosphere for all ages. The fireworks kick off at 9:15 PM, lighting up the sky over this well-loved neighborhood park.
It’s a great event for families and neighbors to gather without traveling too far from home.
4. Rockville Independence Day Celebration (Montgomery County)
For those in the central or western part of the state, Rockville’s celebration at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park is a can’t-miss. The event features live music performances starting at 7:00 PM, followed by a large fireworks display just after nightfall. This event is a local favorite and offers plenty of open space for picnics, lawn games, and community gathering.
It’s the kind of event that brings people together in one of Maryland’s most vibrant suburban communities.

Proud to Be Part of Maryland’s Outdoor Spirit
At Xscape 2 Nature, we’re lucky to work with homeowners throughout Maryland to create outdoor spaces where these kinds of gatherings can happen year-round. But this time of year reminds us that no matter where you are—whether it’s a backyard barbecue or a public park event—the Fourth of July is about connection, celebration, and community.
Wherever you spend the holiday, we hope it’s outdoors, surrounded by the people who matter most.
